Context

Motorpoint approached Calm in the Wild during a period of significant organisational change. Staff were experiencing high workplace stress, shifting job roles, and the impact of recent redundancies.

The People Team wanted to offer colleagues something restorative, grounding, and genuinely supportive  - not another indoor wellbeing talk.

Across four sessions, Calm in the Wild delivered a series of nature-based wellbeing experiences designed to reduce stress, rebuild connection, and create moments of calm in the middle of uncertainty.

What we delivered

1. Mindful Woodland Walks (x2)

Gentle, guided walks focusing on grounding, breath, sensory awareness, and connection to the natural environment.

Activities included:

  • slow breathing and breathwork
  • grounding and sensory invitations
  • time for reflection and quiet
  • a shared snack in nature

2. Woodland Wellbeing Sessions (x2)

These sessions combined calm, creativity and campfire connection.

Activities included:

  • grounding and mindful listening
  • nature-based therapeutic strategies
  • campfire snacks
  • creative nature crafts (stick lashing and natural mandala making)

All sessions were inclusive, low pressure, and accessible to staff with varying levels of confidence outdoors.

Outcomes

Staff reported feeling noticeably calmer, more present and reconnected - both with themselves and each other.

  • Increased sense of calm and clarity
  • Reconnection after workplace disruption
  • Opportunities for quiet reflection without screens
  • Strengthened team connection
  • Space for individuals to decompress and 'reset'

These sessions showed how even a short period outdoors can shift mood, perspective and energy far more effectively than a traditional wellbeing workshop indoors.
